Biography:

Dennis Lupiana is a Tanzanian, working as a fulltime Assistant Lecturer in the department of Computing and Information Technology (CIT) at the Institute of Finance Management, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He graduated with Honours in Masters Degree in Computing (Knowledge Management) at the School of Computing, Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) in 2008.

He is currently pursuing a PhD research in the area of Ubiquitous Computing where he is also leading research in Smart Spaces in the Ubiquitous Computing Research Group (UCRG) at DIT. He is also working as a part-time Assistant Lecturer with School of Computing at DIT.

His primary research area is Smart Spaces where he is researching on developing a knowledge sharing framework to support user mobility in multiple Ubiquitous Computing environments. This research is under the supervision of Dr. Fredrick Mtenzi, Ciaran O'Driscoll and Prof. Brendan O'Shea.

The specific areas which he is interested in is the applicability of Knowledge Engineering techniques in designing and developing formal knowledge representation and reasoning mechanisms for supporting user mobility in Smart Spaces. The approach being considered is Ontology-based context modelling.
